About Me

My name is Abril Castaneda, and I am a freelance designer and marketer, currently working full-time as a Permits and Licensing Specialist. I am passionate about my work and confident in my abilities. My journey as a first-generation Mexican American has shaped me into a strong role model for my siblings and has driven me to make my parents' sacrifices worthwhile.

My path to where I am today was influenced by experiences, such as my involvement in Gold Bear Television in high school, which inspired me to attend Ball State University. At Ball State, my engagement with the Latinx Student Union helped me realize my passion for Public Relations. Throughout college, I developed leadership skills through active participation in organizations like the Latinx Student Union and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

I interned at The McKinley Avenue Agency as a PR assistant and was later promoted to Social Media Director, where I successfully grew the agency's Instagram presence. I graduated in May 2022 and have since continued to pursue my passion for marketing by creating social media content for small businesses in my free time.

I am eager to continue growing in my field and am actively seeking opportunities that allow me to further develop my skills and contribute to impactful marketing initiatives.
